THE GLOW OF THE AXIS OF TIME
Installation by Ester Sheynfeld, using materials synthesised at the solar furnace in Parkent
2025
The installation The Glow of the Axis of Time, made of some of the materials on display on the desk, is curated by Ester Sheynfeld. Fragments of a parallel geology burnt by the sun, these debris of more and less successful experiments expose the continuous trial and error process, research successes and failures. Artist’s description: The Glow of the Axis of Time by artist Ester Sheynfeld exploits light as a metaphor for time, science, and life. The objects from the Solar Heliocomplex are placed on the desk as if part of an experiment that was abruptly interrupted when the scientists stepped away for a moment. Their arrangement follows an internal logic based on their function – from materials designed for extreme conditions to others created for delicate technological processes. The pulsating light seems to breathe new life into them, as if a memory from the past was being revived, waiting to be taken up, someday, by someone else.
